· Advanced knowledge of Customs/Import Regulations including tariff classification, origin, valuation, trade agreements, and experience with Customs related processes, in the EMA region

· Knowledge of Export Controls and Sanctions a plus

· Detailed understanding of the import process with the ability to identify weaknesses in the process, recommend remedial actions, and implement process improvements

· Prior import experience with manufactured/engineered products in a global organization preferred

· At least 2 years’ experience in a lead Customs/Import Compliance management role strongly desired

· Ability and willingness to travel, primarily in the EMA region.

Position Requirements:

Job Responsibilities

· Oversee company compliance with Customs/Import Trade Laws and Regulations and handle major issues in the EMA region

· Interact with government regulators/agencies (e.g. disclosures, reporting, negotiations, audits) and service providers such as customs brokers

· Manage and support site-level compliance coordinators in EMA

· Support business functions on trade compliance issues

· Oversee implementation and maintenance of EMA import metrics and compliance reports to allow measurement of program effectiveness

· Conduct on-site and remote compliance audits in accordance with TCT Audit program

· Provide in-person and web-based compliance training and maintain EMA Training program

· Escalate compliance issues/gaps to the Global Trade Compliance Director

· Assist with development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures in EMA

· Proactively identify, develop and implement programs to fully realize potential cost saving opportunities and process efficiencies

· Communicate compliance requirements to “clients” (internal/external) by assisting in the development and provision of standardised tools (e.g. manuals, checklist, product matrices, decision trees)

· Actively support the Business Integrity & Compliance Team and regularly stretch outside functional area.

Position Description:

Flowserve is a global manufacturer of industrial valves, pumps and mechanical seals. We are recruiting for an Import Compliance Manager to join the Trade Compliance Team (TCT) and provide functional expertise, ensuring the Company meets its obligations in complying with all national and international Customs/Import Regulations in the EMA region. The EMA Import Compliance Manager will have a number of in-region indirect reports and work closely with his/her peers to ensure effectiveness and advancement of the Global Import Compliance program.
