Position Description:

Basic Function:

The Transformation Office (TO) Finance Analyst is responsible for reviewing the financial impact of transformation initiatives. The Analyst will support Initiative Owners, Workstream Leads, and Sponsors as needed to establish initiative baselines and validate value tracking mechanisms. The Analyst will work closely with the TO Finance team and CTO to deliver on these responsibilities.

Nature and Scope:

  • Assess initiative financial plans, forecasts, and delivery for validity of financial impact

  • Assist in monthly valuation review of transformation pipeline during Implementation

  • Collaborate with TO Finance team of 2-8 people

  • Engage with Initiative Owners, Workstream Leaders, and Workstream Sponsors regarding initiative valuation, as needed

Principal Accountabilities:

Serves as an enterprise-minded Flowserve 2.0 Change Leader

  • Leads by example and role-models Flowserve’s values of People, Integrity, Ownership, Safety, Innovation and Excellence

Prepares Initiative business cases for review and approval of the TO Finance Director

  • Review Initiatives submitted for TO Finance approval and prepare any necessary briefing for TO Finance Director to make final review and approval of the Initiative at a specific stage gate

  • Occasionally, approve Initiatives through stage gates on behalf of the TO Finance Director

Tracks and validates the financial impact of portions of the Transformation

  • Works with Initiative Owners and Finance teams to ensure consistent approach to valuation of Initiative impact (including validating all Initiative business cases)

  • Performs financial tracking of progress against commitments (both value delivery and timing)

  • Segregates the financial impact of the Transformation from baseline performance

  • Assists the TO Finance Director in resolving finance resource allocation, project management, financial and risk issues

  • Supports CFO in integration of Transformation commitments with Budgets

  • Creates and runs reports on progress of the financial impact of the Transformation as required

Highlights developing financial trends which could hinder or accelerate financial impact

  • Performs trend analyses to forecast future monthly impacts and compare against monthly financial goals

  • Makes recommendations to Initiative Owners and the TO Finance Director to resolve emerging issues or take advantage of positive trends

  • Anticipates and recommends solutions for financial issues that arise

Position Requirements:


  • 5-7 years of experience in Finance or Accounting in a mid-to-large corporation ($1 billion in revenue and larger) serving in roles requiring immersion within financial statements and planning

  • 5+ years of experience within an international, geographically-dispersed organization

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with solid business and financial acumen

  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills

  • Ability to provide a consultative approach to help drive business and financial decisions

  • Ability to identify issues, generate and evaluate alternatives and implement solutions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to translate financial information to various business audiences to drive decision making

  • Flexibility and ability to anticipate change and respond to Transformation Office needs and priorities with agility

  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix organizational structure, multi-task, and prioritize in high pressure, time-constrained situations

  • Competence to work independently without supervision

  • Knowledge of financial processes and financial systems, including BPC, ERP, Reporting, and Planning tool• Program / Project Management experience is a plus

  • Expertise with Microsoft Office products; extensive Excel 2016 knowledge including ability to manage and manipulate data to develop reports

  • An undergraduate degree or international equivalent in Accounting, Finance or other related discipline
