Position Summary (Why this job exists, who are the customers, and what are the expectations):
The Engineer, Specialist has responsibility for Special process and systems projects for Engineering. He/She assists other departments/sites to resolve problems in and provide enhancements to the product order fulfillment process including quoting, order processing, engineering, quality, purchasing, planning, manufacturing, assembly and shipping.
Job Duties: This section describes the principle responsibilities of the position
· Stay current on OSHA safety training and observe safe work habits. Report unsafe conditions. Encourage others to follow safe work practices.
Productivity and Process Improvement:
Continually look for opportunities to improve the product order fulfilment process.
Plan, recommend, engineer, and implement product order fulfilment process improvement projects.
Support Performance!Nxt parts list generator. This includes the editing of the parts list tree, creation of parts lists and the export to Oracle, SAP of the parts list for import into ERP bill of materials.
Support of Extranet/FlexDash web site including access, new pages, altering of existing pages.
Support of ValPac system (Gilbert) (Springville, Pershore, Melbourne, Edmonton previous ERP system).
Global Performance!Nxt to Oracle P11i and SAP support. Provide Mass updates of Oracle data.
· Provide services and direction in assigned global areas.
· Advise applicable supervisors and/or departments of technical, application, or logistical problems.
· Understand applicable codes and standards.
· Maintain and develop technical and other job skills.

Qualifications (List all qualifications necessary and/or advantageous)
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Engineering or Information Technology from four-year college or university and five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Knowledge of databases with ability to query out of various databases information to support business decisions. Communicate professionally and with accepted business etiquette; work well with people in other departments and with customers.
Beneficial Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of software used at facility including Microsoft Office products, Performance!Nxt, Oracle, etc.
Working knowledge of part configurations and materials and manufacturing processes used in the Valtek product lines.
